Who have never heard about Ignis ? Yes Ignis, this burning girl from the eroge Jingai Makyo, who became so popular, mostly thanks to figurines of she. Moreover, Max Factory version is said to be the best one. For folk who have never seen pictures of it – is it really possible?? – here a link to super rats’s and Danny Choo’s review.

Well, she’s really awesome. But for an unknown reason, I don’t particulary like her. You know, this kind of undescriptible feeling that makes you prefer the A version than the B version. And for once, B is Max Factory, and A is Alter.

Yes, I love Alter’s Ignis.

My Review

This figurine is less blazing and more dark than Max Factory’s. She is also smaller, and looks more serious. But this fight-pose, which draws a nice silhouette, is just too great. The manner she keeps her left hand near her face, the forefinger a little bit raised, is very feminine.

Eyes are weird. Nice, but weird, or may I say mystic, because of this unatural color. She has nice details, like the little white/grey roses and bat-wings, and the butterflies drawn on her dress.

Recently, I was a little shocked seeing that Ignis has in fact pointed ears. If you don’t beleive me, just have a look at the cover of the game’s original sound track. Well, since I am not really fond of elf-ears, I am glad that the figurine got human-ears!

I noticed a lot of people who have ordered this figurine received it with a bad surprise : a part of her hair was broken. Fortunately, I haven’t had this trouble. Lucky! But that is sad, since for once, scultors made nice slender hair. Well, that’s maybe why the figurine is fragile.

We have here a nice Ignis, in a dynamic pose, which I think deserves as care as her sisters from Max Factory or OrchidSeed, because of its originality and the good work Alter did.

By the way, talking about Jingai Makyo, it would be interresting if an anime were realised, really. That would definitly become a kicking-ass show.

  1. I’ve downloaded all the game CGs, she have elf like ears only when she appears dressed as a bride. You did a good job shooting these pictures, now I’m considering to purchase Alter’s Ignis to add to Orchid Seed, Max Factory and Kayodo’s Ignis figures I already own.

  2. Alter’s is very different from the other Ignis figures. The others played up the glamour factor, where Alter went for showing Ignis the warrior, which is nice since it doesn’t feel like a repeat.

  3. I have an Alter Ignis that I got for roughly 3500 yen. I really love it! Fortunately, my Ignis’ hair isn’t broken when I got it… Too bad for some people…
