Chua Churam
Bat wings, pointed ears, sharp fangs… So, the Idol is a Vampire!? At least this is what the cute pop star Chua Churam looks like : a gorgeous vampire. Equiped with her devilish guitar, she bewitches her fans with her songs, and carries away the public all along her dress flows. Those lovely blue/red eyes are sure irresistible.
This adorable blood-lover girl is said to a main character from the (popular?) eroge game Chu x Chu Idol, in where the cute Melissa Seraphy makes her come-back. Basically, Chua Churam is the fusion between Chu Chu Astram, the vampire heroine, and Chiyu Nakauchi, the human heroine. Yeah fusion. But here, the process isn’t a stupid dance like in Dragon Ball Z, but just a kiss. Interresting… really interresting ^^;
And then, I don’t know why since I did not play Chu x Chu Idol, but gorgeous Chua becomes an idol, performing great concerts.
And that is what artist Yagyu Toshiyuki sculpted under ALTER’s label : Chua Churam dressed in her amazing stage costum, in action playing her very stylized guitar.
According to folks who (are going to/wish to) have this figure – and there is a glimpse at Tsuki-Board.net – it is easy to say that ALTER has released a very desired kit, assuredly!
All promotional pictures were promising enough to generate such a craze, in fact. Maybe too promising, actually. And at this level, it is even more easier to be disappointed I guess, since a perfect product is expected.
First disillusion is about the size. The figure was clearly annonced as a non-scaled kit, that’s true, but I was quite surprised to see she was far from a classical 1/8 figure. Most likely 1/10.
Then the guitar. A really epic instrument, but too bad it does not have any string. The plectrum is also rather ridiculous, as it is just a little red spot of paint.
And at last, there is also an odd outline arround Chua’s mouth and teeth… make-up? Blood residue? ^^;
Apart from those little details, and some “hair-sculpt-mass-production defects”, I am still impressed by how this figure looks great and cheerful. A big work has been done for the dress and the support system which is sure robust. A very good figure, even if she doesn’t exactly look as great as I expected by Melissa’s side. Hope Hiyori Pixy will catch this up ^^
I must seem really disappointed, but mostly because her size kindda chilled me, and I had too much expectation from ALTER ^^; Just need to get used to it, I guess ;)
And for more detailed and brighter pictures, don’t miss reviews at foo-bar-baz nor gordonator!

And at last, here a little “family” picture with both GSC’s Melissa figures.
Nendoroid version is so fantastic ^^

Seeing more and more pictures of Chu x Chu Idol two figures, Chu Chu Astram (GoodSmile) and Chuua Churam (ALTER), and knowing that this last one is simply the fusion between Chu Chu Astram and Chiyu Nakauchi (the human heroine) when both kiss, all th …

You know i’ve been on the edge of whether or not to get her. I was worried about her size but seeing her next to Melissa it’s easier to tell her size. She does look awesome, but now i’m gonna have to get her and the Melissa Nendoroid!
thanks for the plug! ^^;
firstly, nice shots of chu churam and secondly i finally gotten my hands on the Melissa PVC figure yesterday from a local seller! she’s so hard to find these days. gorgeous figure as well. too bad she can’t stand on her own without the pumpkin, good thing i have a custom stand that fits her. ^^;
I am looking forward to when my preorder for Chuua Churam comes :D Even though I can imagine her size from your review, I’m sure I too will be pretty shocked/put off by it when she arrives… I have a feeling though, that they made it that size since her dress would have been huuuuuuge if she was the standard 1/8.
And LOL at the DBZ fusion dance…it’s so ridiculous! I’d rather they had kissed as well!!!!
Gorgeous pics. Shes small but very sweet.
I understand that you may be disappointed by the size of this figure. It is also true that the guitar lack of details. It is unfortunately a fairly common thing, sculptor goes much dwell on the face and the general appearance of the figure and leave aside all the work on accessories.
Despite these flaws, it is undeniable that Chua Churam no shortage of charm.
I love the reference Dragon Ball Z ^ ^
Hmm, maybe too bad the size isn’t all that, but her looks are just great. I like her pose. It’s something “different” than other sculptures. :-)
I really like her dynamic pose and all the pretty frills on her dress.I wouldnt buy her tough…
I love how you took the pictures in a way that they turn out a lil darker than usual while still keeping some spots highlighted.I suppose its meant to resemble her performance on stage?Everthings dimmed around her only parts of her higlighted….
Anyway great job!
I’m really sad about the size , and the fact that Hobby Search forgot to send mine , now i maybe won’t have her :(
Anyway , great pics :)
Nice job on the photo shoot!!
I do like this figure and it looks amazingly well done!!
I would want it in my collection!!
Dancing Queen : nendo Melissa is a must have for any folk who already fell for at least one nendoroid. She is so damn cute! So far my favorite with Miku and Sumomo. She ejected Al Azif from the podium ^^;
gordon : good to hear you’ve found a Melissa ^^
Pure Trance : a real 1/8 scale would sure have led to a huge figure. But well… they could have made an effort…
*thinks about Goku and Vegeta kissing….
mmhhh… well, this dance isn’t that ridiculous after all ^^;
Blowfish : first I wanted to take outdoor pictures of her, but finally I stayed indoor, with this “dark” style of mine, in order to have lighting looking like the one she could have when she is on stage, indeed. Glad you noticed that ^^
James : WTF!? how could they have “forgot” about your order? O_o I am sorry to read that :(
Sweet stuff, from your pictures, I’m really looking forward to getting mine which should be today, but I think I mistakenly hung up on the postman when he/she attempted to buzz me to inform me about the delivery since I’m so tired and sleepy after coming back from a convention ^^; So I have no idea where the package is now until tracking updates T_T”
Now that I’m playing Wagamama Capriccio, I think I might be wanting to try and get the 1/8 scale Melissa since I grabbed her Nendoroid versions. And I thought I’d be spending less on figures if I go for games, but turns out I might be spending on games AND figures now instead…. T___T;
Yeah…bigger is always better! LOL Yeah, that is pretty nasty if they kissed, but the dance was pretty strange as well xD;;
Ahh Chua Churam, she been sitting on my table right infront of me since I got her. Even though she’s small her detail is just amazing. Seeing your last pic with Melissa makes me regret I didn’t get her last time =(
Grâce à tes photos, on peut se rendre compte du travail fourni par Alter pour sa robe qui est vraiment superbe.
Dommage qu’elle soit un peu petite mais ça n’enlève rien au charme de cette figurine!
interestingly, the defects you pointed out are the ones that most of my friends noticed as well. the only sad thing is that she’s definitely smaller than expected, but that does not dethrone any of the crazy detail on her dress and in her hair.
Exactly, despite her size she is still adorable, and I won’t denigrate this great figure ^^
shino : postmen always show up too early =_=
Man, you’re playing Wagamama Capriccio!? Lucky you… T_T
Getting into those games is dangerous… who are going to know more and more character, and will want their 3D figure representation ^^;
I thought it was an excellent figure, wishing it was bigger aside. Given the small size, I find the production pretty superb and the detail level tip-top.
awesome photos as always. I kinda like how the lighting is a bit dim for her. Makes her appear a bit more sultry lol. Vampidol can rock my world anytime ^^
She looks so cute and her dress has so many details. But I dunno if I should get her so many nice figures being released that makes my wallet cry all-day.
Another figure that will make my wallet dry/cry XD. I haven’t played the game but this figure is worth buying considering the amount of details despite her small size. Too bad the guitar does not have strings, otherwise, it would be perfect.
if they make it 1/8 scale or 1/6 scale, it will probably increase the price and may drive away collectors in my opinion.
Nice photos as always ^^
I already knew that she was small but still is one of the best figurines I’ve seen this year no doubt about that, if she gets a reissue in the future I’ll get her for sure just like Saber maid which is already saved for me ^_^
