Bushido Girl

« Altough “The Dark Age” have passed, People have lost the land. »
Mmhh I do not really understand that line, but it sounds great and that is what is written on the latest figure’s box I received and I am going to show pictures of : the angry Bushido Girl from Sekaiju no Meikyuu, a Nintendo DS game also know as Etrian Odyssey, and even formerly known as Yggdrasil Labyrinth! Fweew! Three names for one single game, that is not common.

Bushio Girl

Like in Disgaea which is, I am sure, better known, this Bushido Girl is a generic character. And besides, she looks very similar to Disgaea samurai-type characters, or should I say samurai-type girls in anime/manga in general. Just think about Motoko from Love Hina for example, she is the best cliché I guess ^^
Red hakama, white kimono, white bandages arround her breasts, long black hair with a ponytail… perfect anime-like miko stereotype, and that’s why I love it. Since the very first promotion pictures.

She wears some nice pieces of armor, and holds a massive sheath compared to her size, for her long sword. A sword that can be put in both ways. And I like the reverse one.

I have a bad habit to forget to take picture of characters’ feet. So here we go!

Bushio Girl

Even if it is not as interresting as other part of the figure, I kindda like the reflect in that brand new black base. It will not last long, with dust accumulation.
This picture allows me to introduce as well the only visible sculpt flaw, here on her socks. I did not see any other one, and I have to say that I am rather impressed by the quality of this Wave Corp. figure. I will definitely grab the Paladin Girl from the same universe. Though the Medic figure that was first released still do not interrest me.

Bushio Girl

Such a bad and threatening gaze. So cool!

Last time I used this autumn-leaves like background, I thought the pictures were a bit overloaded. This time I appreciate the result. I have the feeling it fits the figure quite well.
Anyway, let’s have a little switch between colors, to have a 360° overview of the figure.

As a last word, this Bushido Girl is a true surprise, in a good way. I was a bit worried since it is from a manufactured I am not used at all, but finally, this figure has nothing to envy to GSC’s or ALTER’s products. And I am completely found of her now ^^

Discussion

  1. What a weird figure O.o, definitely not my type of figure

  2. kawaii~ very cute figurine :D she looks like the ronin class from disgaea 1 & 3, but lolier :D

I like the red background, matches her well :D

  3. It’s a nice figure. Samurai style figure…

  4. Very nice. I saw this on HLJ but not enough interest to actually buy one.

  5. she’s cute, and that sword looks kinda cool too. I have seen pictures of Paladin Girl, she looks pretty good too, but with me cutting down on my purchases I probably won’t be getting either though.

  6. Ooo, love the samurai arm guards, very cool. She definitely has the looks to kill lol.

  7. Cute figure! I do like the autumn wallpaper XD
But my GOD I gave up on the game.

  8. Belela-san : weird? hehe I was sure this figure would provocates some very opposit opinions ;)

ron~ : thanks! I am kindda satisfied with the background this time :)
And yeap, you’re right, lolier than Disgaea characters ^^

valho : hehe guess we have all the same dilemma ;)

AS : born to kill! xD

    Aya Kyunik : ha? is the game that bad? never heard about it in fact, until I was interrested into this figure ^^;

  9. I bought one as a present for my friend. Now I want to get one for myself too!

  10. It’s definitely “different”, but I like it. However, because it’s so different and not some super popular character (I’m not even familure with the game she’s from though), if I wait it out a few months chances are she will go on sale somewhere!!!! If she ends up being sold out everywhere, then, I was fated not to buy it, but if it goes on sale, I’ll definitely pick this up. I really like the expression on her face for some reason.

At the moment though, I can’t justify buying it. Punit Akari and two art books I want take priority for the next couple month’s spending…. :-) Akari overpowers all :-P

  11. The first thought I had was…nice the leaves are to scale! Just kidding, the first thought was, I don’t even remember seeing this figure, but it’s cute.

  12. alafista : a figure as a gift, this is nice. Have never been offered one :(
Though their is a high risk the one I’d be given would be already in my collection, since figures here in France are released about 3 or 4 months after Japanese versions hehe.

cbeley : that is a nice approach. I actually do the same for some figure, waiting few more weeks/months and see if the product is still available. If not, then it was definitely not intended to be added to “treasure” ^^

    super rats : haha yeah leaves are to scale, sortta ^^;

  13. Her face looks funny from some angles, but her diminutive size makes her look cute. Won’t be getting this or anything else this month.

  14. She looks fierce.. haha.. I don like fierce looking characters.. :P

I got Paladin Girl on pre-order though.. :D

  15. Never ordered this one, though inside me, I secretly kept hoping the shop will bring her in ^^; And when the boss once said something about having a samurai-type girl figure coming in, I was pretty excited, then it turned out to be a false alarm T_T

If it ever comes into the shop, I’d grab it without a second thought, though it’s kind of weird how I wouldn’t order her online though. Seeing the pics make me wanna, but I gotta resist! Too many orders already!! T_T
