This week-end, I decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and went to a lake nearby. As you can easily predict it, I brought some figures, and a good friend of mine, JC, came too. We took advantage of the fact JC has the special accessories for Mikuru and Yuki (Max Factory) figures to recreate the famous « Mikuru beam » scene.

Taking figure pictures elsewhere than your own place is not simple at all. We Had to watch the figures from wind, dog, the kid that was taking the dog for a walk, or maybe it was in fact the dog who was taking the kid for a walk… so hard to focus on pictures when there are so many disturbances arround. I respect Adun particularly for that hehe.
So I don’t have much to show since most of photos were failure. And those are not that nice if you ask me.

And here the all five “Max Fact’ touch” figures for Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu.

I don’t like those two pictures either. Bad light, wrong colors… I completely screw up them. But that the all I have, to tell the world “hey look, I got Yuki, Ryouko and nyoro~n Tsuruya-san too!” ^^;

Even if I am not satisfied at all about pictures I took, it was very funny and interresting, especially with friends. Was a bit caught up with time, since Sun sinks very quickly during winter, and more worried about people arround than the settings of my camera… but that was a good experience. Will definitely try this again.

And well, fortunately, for complet figure reviews, you can admire Tsuruya-san and Ryouko at foo-bar-baz, or admire super rats’ works for the (unpopular?) latest SHnY figure.

Oh and to end with, on the way back to home, I met a cute grade school girl who dropped her book and was wondering what the hell we were doing.

Even if it reminds me some not really good memories (haha just kidding), I like this Kokonoe Rin figure, even more since I saw the whole Kodomo no Jikan anime, and loved it ^^;

Photography location

Marion Lake is a 17 hectares preserved area not far from Biarritz town center.

Due to ocean closeness, there are a lot of seagulls sharing the water plan with ducks and other water birds.

Another type of seagull, due to airport proximity.

And a last “behind the scene” picture, showing fellow JC in action. The picture of me he took <strike>may become available soon</strike> is now available at his blog ^^;

For this month first article, I’ll write few words about what’s begining today, wednesday the 1st of august, till sunday night : the Bayonne Festival, or Fêtes de Bayonne in French.

This is an impressive five-day celebration that takes place each first week of august, and the downtown will have to host arround a million folk, while its native population is just 45,000.

This very expected event officially gets underway with a colourful and particularly loud firework called “mascaleta”, displayed on the first night at 10:00 pm in front of the Town Hall. It symbolically re-enacts the awakening of old King Leon who reigns over the festivities.

Like San Fermin Pamplona’s Festival (Spain), everyone should wear the traditionnal attire : white pants, white shirt and red scarf arround the neck. Some “festayres” (that’s how festival goers are locally called) also wear a red sash arround their waist.

There is a great carnival atmosphere, including live music all across the streets, cow racing, traditionnal Basque dances… and splendid food & drink.

The party continues late into the night in the town’s various bars and restaurants that all enter into the spirit of the festival, by proposing their own entertainments.

And like previous year, I’ll throw myself into the terrific crowdy streets of Bayonne, with my loyal trombone and my fellow musician friends, to animate the places we use to go/stay, eat a lot, drink even more, and try to rest a little between each day. It’s going to be tough, as usual, but fantastic!

Talking about bars and restaurants, during this five-day event, their owners make the biggest part of their yearly turnover.
But the Festival also requires a lot of efforts and preparation, especially from the Town Hall’s staff, for who those days are certainly the longuest and hardest period of the year, because of the amount of work they have in order to keep the city as clean and safe as possible.

all pictures are from www.fetes.bayonne.fr

Let put aside our otaku-hobbies for a little moment, and let me make you aware of what’s going on in this nice place where I live : Bayonne. In France, this city is known for its chocolates, and ham. And there is a tradition since 1426 which aim to reward the best pork-butchers of the region. Nowaday, an official fair is organised during the Holy Week, and this is a good occasion to eat a lot of good things.

The main entertainment is to savour severals kind of ham, sausage, chorizo, and of course drink some wine and/or cider.
