I was very surprised, in a good way, when I saw the first episodes of the WitchBlade anime version. Lot of folks think that it sucks, and I can understand those devotees of Michael Turner’s comic heroine. Though, I really appreciate this adaptation, and particularly thanks to a great seiyuu such as Mamiko “mami-mami” Noto who voices the heroine, Masane Amaha.
So, I couldn’t have miss a figurine of her.
A lot of the WitchBlade figurines already exist, released by Kotobukiya, GDH… They are tall, like 1/6 scale, they represent the Masane once transformed into the WitchBlade but not really what I am expecting for (in fact I don’t know myself what I’m expecting for with WitchBlade figurines…).
But this one, proposed by Alter, attracted my attention.
In fact, and as my mother noticed it, this is the only figurine in my collection with casual wear! Of course, I have some figures with school-uniforms, but that is something which is very related to Japan culture.
So, a Masane-wearing-blue-jeans figurine is something very unique, and that’s why I like her a lot, even if the face isn’t the same as the anime character design at all. And fortunately, we find again the typical Alter quality, and the way they have to design characters with very realistic proportions.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the “flexible chest technology” thing of this figurine. For those who don’t, go check Heisei Democracy review.
Well, when I first opened the boxe I tried it, inevitably. It isn’t as soft as I thought. Can someone explain me why manufacturers are going this way with female figurine breasts? That may be funny … for about 30 sec. And if you really need to sqeeze something to avoid stress, it is better using something else, I guess. Nevermind, it is certainly one of those useless but essential extra options.

Haruhi - « Hey that’s not fair! You said next article would be mine! »
- mmhh yes but…
Haruhi - « Liar liar liar! And again with those crappy indoor shots. Soooo boring. »
- Hey! If you have a better id…
Haruhi - « I know! Go for an outdoor photo session! Come with me. And Masane, took off this stupid WitchBlade arm. »
- …
Haruhi - « Here we are, now shoot! Go! Shoot! »
- This way? Is it ok for you?
Haruhi - « Not at all. You suck! »
Haruhi - « Look. Try over here, in this shady place. »
Haruhi - « Much better. Now rotate your carmera. »
- Yes sir.
Haruhi - « Zoom over her breasts! . »
Haruhi - « Her breasts I said! Her breasts! Why do you think she’s called Masamune? »
- Ok stop it. That’s enough.
Haruhi - « Tsss… you’re not funny. But now I want my own photo session, got it? »
Yeah yeah we’ll see.

Awesome outdoor shots ^^, I knew it once I entered the site and saw the post of Masane that Haruhi would be pissed since you promised her that she would be next

lu-k one question, where did you get the Haruhi figure? Almost every store has run out. Plus most of the French stores I now know still don’t have her.

Danny : yeah I know, sorry ^^; But I’ve noticed that squeezing her “eyes” provokes some distortions on her shoulders, at the point between the skin and the shirt.
Valho : Kotobukiya’s ones are beautiful, but I’m not really in big figurines like 1/6 scale. So I’m waiting for the power-up Alter version ;)
super rats : I’m glad to hear that ;)
Belela-san : from Hobby Link Japan’s second batch. I order most of my figurines and visual books from HLJ.
