Asuka Langley
I’ve already said I was expecting her at the end of the Rei figure review, and there she is! My dear and fond Asuka Langley, wearing a lovely striped tube top and shorts instead of the traditional plugsuit.
I swear, after that I’ll be done with Evangelion hehe.
According to the description wrote on HobbyLink Japan, this figure was initially released as a resin kit in 2001, and is sculpted by Hiroshi Inagaki. Good to know, since this artist also create the beautiful Yomiko “The Paper” Readman figure (be it said, I’m looking forward its restock) and Arche Klaine figure.
I have to admit that this figure suffer from a lot of strange things…
Except usual scupt artifacts on hair, Asuka’s got a right elbow amazingly sharp-pointed! And the way she keeps her left hand horizontally isn’t natural. Try to do the same, you’ll see hehe.
An average figure, but it will certainly charm Evangelion’s or especially Asuka’s fans, with its originality and attractive price.
And that’s all for the objective part. I’m not disapointed at all. I love the way Asuka looks lost in her thoughts, and I find her more seductive with untied hair. My “Asuka fanboy side” is still there haha.

The Children
This last Evangelion figure complet my EVA pilots trio. Those three figures of first, second and third “Children” are perfect together. I was expecting a good harmony between those Kotobukiya products, and I’ve been completely satisfied. Yeah I know there is also Kaworu, but I’ve voluntarily forgotten him.
Now I just miss a Misato figure to have a full dose of Evangelion ;)

Nice pictures ~ especially the one with all three pilots together ^^
A nice figure for the price. There’s also a certain seductiveness about her.
Your right. That didn’t feel good twisting my hand that way, haha
These days, that’s not a bad price. One of the nice things about Evangelion figures is the variety.
You can use her elbow to cut through the tape of other figure boxes. :) I like the base.
Although I mentioned before that I wouldn’t buy a Eva figure, if I did it would have to be Asuka for sure. However there is still the issue of a large variety, lol. Nice pics.
Holy god! These pics are fantastic! Im jealous ~~+
Also looking forward to the new films out later this year.
love that last shot of three of them together. great pics ^^
nice pics! i agree that her elbow is very very pointy!
aka_ugly : does it!? hehe. I think it’s more natural to let your fingers go down and rest. Keeping them straight horizontally doesn’t feel good at all.
super rats : I’ll try that on next figure I’ll receive ;)
Ho I’ve realised I didn’t talk about the base. This kind of wooden flooring is nice indeed, but it’s too bad that it can’t be removed from the figure :/
Adun : for sure, you have a lot of choice haha ^^
Danny : so do I! I’m really curious about these films.
valho : thanks! I’ve been thinking about this group picture since I ordered them ;)
Sector6 : yep, I’d say this is the main defect of this figure.
hmmmm… she looks lovely, but she doesnt really look like asuka
btw, I like the first picture! great lighting
I like Asuka in this figure because its the other part of Asuka that we don’t know. Behind that “crazy and savage” side theres somewhat of a cute and innocent girl.
I’m not a fan of Evangelion although I saw the entire series some years ago, I liked both girls Asuka and Rei but I kinda preferred Rei.
3800yen surely is a nice price. I wouldn’t buy her, though. Simply because I’m no Asuka fan^^
Great photos. Toying around with the light is something I still need to get a hang of. I like the spotlight setup you did in the first picture. Reminds me of the last episode where Shinji sits all alone in the dark.
BAUMKUCHEN =D
Really nice expression on this figure. Am very tempted to get this figure just for the expression ^_^ Really lovely photos as well once again. Like Belela, I prefer Rei over Asuka myself, but Asuka’s releases recently are really nice. Here’s hoping the trick bike Rei will be great ^^
Nice pictures again. The expression on Asuka is definitely lost in thought but I believe your Rei and Asuka should exchange expressions, they would look more like the ones I know. But the figures are nice nonetheless.
U make me tempted to buy them. I must control myself….
ron~ : Ha you think so? I admit she hasn’t the same hair volume as when it’s tied-up, and looks rather thinner than the Asuka in the anime, but I can easily recognise her, and would have prefer her like that in fact. That’s may be why I like this figure hehe.
Belela-san : That’s it, the cute and innoncent Asuka ^^;
Sounds weird, but I love it!
David : Each one has different tastes ;)
Asuka can’t be loved by everybody hehe.
shinohai : Haa yeah I saw that biker Rei as well. She looks nice, but I’m afraid she’ll be too small :/
That’s a usual issue with figures that come with extra an extra bike (like Mahoro for example).
AS : That’s the way those two figures are different from what we use to see. A smiling Rei and calm Asuka, this is quite original.
Kinslayer : Hehe sorry ’bout that ;)
