There are always pieces that have not been able to be bought, and still are very desired, when you’re having a collection. And this is a great moment of self-conceit when you manage to find one of those treasure. Well, that’s what happened to me, when I purchased this Niigi Gorgeous Blue figure few days ago.
Once again, I was charmed by an unknown character. But her very interresting clothing style got me.
The cat who is following her has a funny “face” expression, and reminds me one of those proud and pretentious animal characters in Walt Disney movies like Aristocats, Cinderella etc… Very good memories of youth, that may be one reason for which I like this figure.
Niigi is fixed to her base by a screw. Another way to prevent figures from leaning issues, but I’m not really convinced about the efficacity of this tip.
I do know nothing about this girl, excepted the title of the universe she’s from, at last : Shikigami no Shiro II, a scrolling shooter game released in 2003/04 in Japan, for almost all platforms at that time : GameCube, PS2, DreamCast, Xbox, Windows and of course, the one which came first, arcade.
I took those pictures before I was aware of her origins, but I instinctively knew she would look great next to vehicules with big engines. Fortunately, Cloud who is a good guy lent his bike for the photo.
The funny thing is that I would have preferred a kind of plane or copter. I have Cid HighWind but it’s too small and scales don’t match. Anyway, this is a proof of the very good design of Niigi, according to what she does and where she comes from.

Maybe you can put HighWind in the background- as if it was in the sky…haha, doesn’t sound like a good idea @@

I love the bike pic ^-^. I understand how you feel about buying based on impulse, I bought a few figures because I liked how they looked even though I didn’t know where they came from.

Nice cats. I have like 12 or so cats in my collection thanks to the ARIA figures. Great pictures with the bike as well and looks to be a nice figure.

hehe when I read your comment adun I thought you had 12 real cats XD. The picture with Cloud’s bike turned out really cool.
One question, is the figure russian or something? That hat looks russian :D

haha, the cat pic is great! The figure is nice too ~ very original looking.
I think there’s a certain charm about buying a figure that you know nothing about. An aura of mystery perhaps ^^;
I know I’ve been bit by the unknown figure bug as well lately.

Nice pics as usual. I never seen this figure before for some reason.

This one is from before I started collecting. Nice one.

Thanks! As many of you guys I guess, I started my figure collection telling me that I won’t buy figure representing character I don’t know. The perfect kind of rule made to be broken, since anime character figures are more and more beautiful hahaha ;)
Cryorazor : nope, the HighWind is really too “small” and doesn’t suit with a 1/8 scale character :(
Adun : ho yeah that’s true, you’ve got almost all the Aria undines, and the presidents who come with hehe :)
I’ll have one more cat when GSC Alicia figure will be released.
Belela-san : Sorry, can’t tell is she’s Russian or not… there is no more information about her on the wikipedia, and the official site is in Japanese so even it’s possible that it isn’t mentioned, I can’t read it hehe. But yeap, the hat looks Russian from the front, but if you pay more attention, it’s a cap, she’s wearing in the wrong way ;)
super rats : yeap, for me too. But when I started, she’s still marked as “backordered” on HLJ, but finally she was never re-issued. That’s why I was keeping her in mind all this time hehe.

Great figure now that I look at it, and yes, I love that cat’s expression.
Hmm, makes me wonder if I should explore the games she’s in.

I’m also curious about this game. I made some research about it, since it’s available in US and EU version, but found that the adapation was awful. They removed all japanese voices (without replacing them, there are no more voices), change the whole OST, and many other crappy things :/
So it’s better to find a real Jap version of the game.
