Knights of the Zodiac

Back from nowhere, Knights of the Zodiac are here to bring me back to my childhood. Seiya and Shiryu, these two great young warriors have escaped from the sanctuary, and have been thrown into an other world to face the most dangerous, powerful, umbelievable enemy and deliver me from its influence… a harem of anime girls!!!
Cloud and Van have already perished… so no one can tell if they’ll survive…

Saint Seiya

I’m definitly not a big Saint Seiya fan, and have not a great knowledge about this huge universe, but I still have good memories about what I’ve seen from the show and the few old myth cloth figures I had when I was a little school-boy. I remember Shiryu was my favorite saint, like everybody on this planet I guess, and I hated Saori. Don’t ask me why, I can’t remind it. But that’s it, and that’s why I only purchased the knights without the Athena figure.

Saint Seiya

Seiya has a nice pose, like if he’s preparing some kind of Pegasus Meteor Punch, or maybe he’s just waiting for his opponent, since he’s a vicous smile on his face, as if he’s just said “Come on! I’ll kick your ass!” or somthing like that.

Saint Seiya

It’s not that easy to keep him balanced. Looks like Seiya stands on his own, but that’s because I arranged the “ground” in order to have him standing straight. But on a plain surface, and due to the weight brought by his left arm, Seiya would fall ahead. He definitly needs his base.

On the other hand, Shiryu can stand without. Well, not that it is a very important criterion, but it has to be said.
Shiryu has a huge potential of awesomness! His emerald dragon cloth is the beautifulest ever in my opinion – dragon stuff is always awe-inspiring – with its legendary large shield on the left arm guard. The armor has been very well designed for this figure, and I’m pretty satisfied with pictures of Shiryu I took. Hope you’ll enjoy them as I do.

If these figures are compared to the original anime design, it’s easy to notice the lack of resemblance of the faces, especially Seiya’s one.
Don’t know how true fans feel, and I would be interreted in the opinion, but considering the quite low price and the usual MegaHouse products’ quality, these figures truly deserve their title of Excelent Model.

So, two more male figures added to a collection of hot girl figures, well, I think I’m on the good way to be cured… uh? wait a minute. I think there are people over there. Looks like they’re waiting for us…

Bleach girls

Mastumoto : Hi~ boys, you seem lost.
Yoruichi : Let’s make it fast.
Rukia (putting her gloves on) : Ok. Come on Lu-k, time to give us your soul for eternity. Don’t worry, that won’t hurt.

Damned…

Discussion

  1. I still remember watching Saint Seiya while I was still quite young, not only that I think I read the entire manga series as well LOL. These two Knights of the Zodiac figure looks pretty good, even though they don’t really resemble their anime counterpart I prefer them more than the articulated version. I hope the girls ain’t too rough on them ^^

  2. Have never watched a Saint Seiya anime or read the manga, but I do remember liking their bling bling lots when I was just a kid ^^ There’s just something about characters in armor and the gold thats associated with the knights simply make them more attractive.

    Very nice photos once again and sweet acquisition of the Bleach series ladies :)

  3. I have absolute 0 knowledge of Saint Seiya. Anime wasn’t even a blip on the radar as a young-in.
    Nice pics though ~ I like when the Bleach ladies show up xD
    Don’t worry. I gave up my soul many moons ago ^^

  4. I remember watching the first half of the anime countless times, I don’t know why I never watched the other half. Shiryu was always my favorite, especially his master…the purple gnome ^-^, always gave me a puzzled looked with all his purpleness. Nice pics again.

  5. valho : I never read the manga, so my only reference is the anime. Seiya’s face is very different, but his dynamic pose makes me forgive about that.
    The ladies were pitiless ^^;

    shinohai : Thanks, I was looking for these Bleach figures since I started watching the show few months ago – love Yoruichi and Mastumoto haha – but it was pretty difficult to find them since it has been more than a year since their first release. Not that shonens like One Piece or Bleach are my favorite type of anime, but I easily watch them. A little bit of fight / stupid humor between two ecchi / school life series is pleasant :)

    aka_ugly : yeap… I guess it can’t be helped ^^;

    AS : So do I. I’ve never been very far after sanctuary episodes, maybe because of a new interrest in other animes, more… perverted ^^;

  6. i grew up with saint seiya and dragonball! i didnt get these megahouse figures coz i would rather get a myth cloth (i’m not a myth cloth collector though).

  7. Great pictures, it’s refreshing to see some male figures being presented. I’ve yet to watch Saint Seiya even though my friends keep recommending me to, but I really like Shiryuu’s design and it looks like Megahouse has done a great job with both of them.

  8. Sector6 : myth cloth series are the best for Saint Seiya fans I guess. But I’m not really into this kind of fig. I prefer big 1/8 pvc scaled ones ^^;
    So I’m very happy with those MegaHouse figures.

    byaku-chan : Shiryu has a huge charism, and a lot of fans including me :)
    This figure is a good representation of the character IMO, and yep, MegaHouse did a pretty good job.

  9. When I was lad I always wanted to watch the show. There was one TV station which announced the series. But somehow I never caught it…

    The figures look awesome. I totally dig Seiya’s pose. That is so anime. The second last shot of Shiryu is the best^^
