009-1 Mylene Hoffman

Back to indoor shots for this figure received recently : agent Mylene Hoffman, a spy under the code name 009-1.

To have an idea of the kind of anime she comes from, here a summary taken at Anime News Network :

In an alternate world, the Cold War has continued to persist for 140 years. As a result, the world was divided into two factions: the West Block, and the East Block. As the Cold War drags on, the tension between the two factions, as well as the amount of nuclear weapons they have, rise. Mylene Hoffman is a female cyborg who is a spy for the West Block. Together with three other agents, Mylene partakes in various missions issued by her superiors.

I have only managed to see the two first episodes, and have never found the rest. A bit sad since liked how Mylene uses her incredible body to complet her missions, even she is said to be a cyborg… but no, I can’t admit that hehe.

A very good-looking figure, with nice curves which seduced me. But unfortunately, for a first collaboration between Kotobukiya and Happinet, it is far from being perfect, with some “old” sculpting and painting defects of which we are no more used with big names of figure industry…
It doesn’t seem to be that visible on those pictures, but when looking closely, there are clear join marks on her flanks, arms and legs. Should I put this on the fact it is a 1/6 scale figure? mmmmh… maybe.
Another weird thing is about paint job. Some part of her body like left shoulder is much more “white” that the rest… well, ok, once again because of the lighting it can’t be seen, but I swear that’s true hehe. And I assume it is those of random mistakes due to mass production.

Mylene comes with her funky futurist gun. I don’t know in with hand to put it, and I didn’t managed to make her handling it… what a shame *sigh*. There is also a common large red base with a white 009-1 logo print on it, and the figure can be fixed, since there is a hole in her right feet.

It may looks like I don’t appreaciate this figure, but that is not really the case. Of course I am a bit disappointed, since I was expecting something more “perfect” from a production both signed by Kotobukiya and Happinet (and it is also not very fair for this figure to come after Kureha, Ayu, Akatsuki and Haruhi hehehe)… but finally, on second thought, she is amazingly gorgeous with those semi-opened clothes, and big eyes.

Though, since I am trying to save some money, I guess I won’t purchase the other cyborg, Françoise, produced by the same guys, and scheduled this month, contrary to what I’ve planed when I first saw those two figures.
