Bewitched Agnes
Autumn is such a great season, with wonderful colors. So I went out once again to take pictures of a new figure arrived this week : the gorgeous witch Agnes Bell aka Ureshiko Asaba, the magical girl wife from : Okusama wa Maho Shojo.
For those who don’t know, Agnes is her alias as a magical girl from the magical world of Realm, and she is in charge of protecting the Wonderland. That’s how the place she lives is called. And actually, Ureshiko Asaba appears to be a 26-year-old housewife who helps to run a boarding house.
That was for the little explanation about those two names of hers. For further informations, watch this nice anime which looks like a lovely tribute to the famous sitcom Bewitched.
So. This figure features Agnes wearing her astonishing magical costume full of stars and crescent moon. I am not really into magical girl outfits actually, but Ureshiko/Anges is definitely an exception. I would say it is because of this mix between “old school” look and super sexy elements.
About QC, well, this is a Max Factory figure, with all the good things resulting from it. Impeccable paintjob, almost faultless sculpting, since drifts due to mass-production can’t be helped, but I have only noticed one in her back, once I was checking the pictures on screen.
I love that red of Agnes’ costume, which in fact looks much more like a swimsuit than anything else. But a magical swimsuit ^^
Even if the main pose is quite plain, the way she squeezes her breast with her arm adds a lot of charm. Remember? That is how Mishiro Akatsuki, the first girl from Shuraki, should have been posing… too bad it has been changed. That’s such a great sexy attitude *sigh*
Anyway, this is one of the main sell argument for this figure of Ureshiko… I guess, since that’s the first reason why I wanted it for my collection ^^;
And here the second reason…
Product Information
- Manufactured by Max Factory
- 1/7 scale completed pvc/abs figure
- First released in October 2007 in Japan
- List Price of 5,800 JPY
As you may already know, this is the second figure from Max Factory featuring Ureshiko Asaba. The first one was released last year, arround the same period, in October/November, and shows Ureshiko in her casual clothes, holding a pretty umbrella. Some pictures of this nice model are still available at my old and very first blog (French text), but I rather recommend those at Happy Soda.
Here at last both Agnes and Ureshiko.

Very nice. I have the Ureshiko figure but have yet to open it. Still sits in my pile. Also how nice that you are in Autumn right now and have leaves that actually turn brown. Most trees in my area are those year round type.
Nice photos of this one, I’ve always been tempted to buy it but I havn’t watched the series yet =/
hmmm i didn’t notice her costume is bare back in the prototype, nice, very sexy back ^^. I only have the normal clothed Ureshiko figure and I didn’t get this one for the simple reason there are just too much figures to get XD. Another set of nice outdoor photos lu-k, i really need to find a nice place for outdoor pics ^^
Now that you mentioned how she squeezes her breast with her arm, it does make her look way nicer. I guess they are good at noticing the little details that appeal to figurine collectors.
Heh, love the description of “mix between “old school†look and super sexy elements”. Can’t be any more apt in that description. Was never really into her figures, probably because she’s over 20 (*sigh* Would never have thought I’d say that, but after looking at my recent grabs, it certainly feels that way *sigh*)
Her clasp for her mantle looks fantastic though, her reverse view looks absolutely great as well for sure. Certainly another great job by Max Factory! Love your outdoors too, just lovely colors you have.
Oh, I love Magical Girls just that it’s those of the younger variety it seems. m(-_-)”m
O_o, the second reason is one reason why I would get her lol. The hair is a bit too dull for me to get really excited about her, but the costume is nice if not sexy ;p. I didn’t know that you had an older blog, I deleted my old one when I moved over to my new one.
she is sooo cute~
I wanted to get this one, but cancelled it, too many figurines at that time =\
I like this version more than the one with umbrella :D
nice outdoor shots, but I like your indoor more :D
The cut of her bodysuit is yummy.
One word: BEAUTIFUL~
And all the shots have nice even lighting~
You’re right, I love how her boobs are squishy-ly cute but it doesn’t hurt to have a perky butt too eh? LOL (^.*)
Love you Max Factory. Love you second reason.
I like Magical Girls when they are older. Thank you Strikers…
I like this figure. At first glance I felt “She looks a bit like Athena Asamiya from The King of Fighters”. Maybe the colors and the stars? (And Athena, a Mahou Shoujo? I believe so).
Very cute pose and the clothes are not too revealing (except for the short skirt)… I like that kind of thing.
Concerning ages, Japanese creators are a bit annoying. When characters are young, they are too young (the most common age is around sixteen, even many characters look like kids or look so older). When they are create adult characters, sometimes they are too old (can’t they give them something around the early twenties? And when that happens, they think like old people already).
At the inverse of shinohai, I prefer older females in anime (that is why mahou shoujo don’t interest me normally, as I am not a fan of loli girls to say the truth) but generally they are either described as old maids or are in a relationship. This is the same in real life. *Sigh*
By the way and as a more cheerful conclusion, pantsu shot for the win. ^^;
Adun : we are lucky this year to have such beautiful colors on tree leaves.
Aya Kyunik : the show is quite pleasant if you ask me ^^
valho : yeah too much figures… I’ve chosen this one a long time ago, and canceled a lot others on a second thought. That’s cruel ^^;
alafista : their purpose is to sell figures at the end. So the more appealing their products are, the best! ;)
shinohai : hehe, her age is maybe why I was more seduced by this character. And well, she is not that old… poor Ureshiko ^^
AS : I keep my old site online since its hosted for free and I put some lyrics on it that I consult time to time ^^
ron~ : Thanks, I’ll try to make proper indoor shots next time just for you then ^^;
I also needed to cancel a lot of other figures, but wanted to keep this one.
super rats : indeed!
dice : she may be used to it… I guess ^^;
myu : StrickerS rocks! Grown up magical girls have their own charmes! Love them as much as lolis, but don’t have the same dreams about her ^^;;
D_Blade : I am also more and more fond of “old” characters…maybe ’cause I’m more and more old as well haha. I agree, this is anoying to see characters in her twenties being considering like “oji / oba”, while main characters are most of them between 14 and 17. But well… can’t be helped.
The 1st pic is awesome! I really like these outdoor pics :D I started watching this series but I got bored really fast – maybe because the protagonist was an “old lady” xDD so didn’t even consider to buy any of the figures, though I think the Yamato version is quite impressive.
