Fate/Zero
With all those stories concerning Fate Project, I wonder if a anime version of Zero and Hollow Ataraxia will be released one day. I really wish to learn more about what happened before and after Stay Night. But only through animes, so that I would be able again to listing to my favorite seiyuu Kawasumi Ayako voicing Saber! (assuming the casting would not change of course).
Meanwhile, I will be satisfied with two aweome Max Factory figures of Saber and Kiristugu Emiya.
Kiristugu, Saber’s master in Fate/Zero, is Shirou’s foster-father, but also Ilya’s father. Reading a bit of wikipedia content about Fate characters reveals a lot of very intersting stuffs. Too bad all of these hasn’t been developped in the anime version of Stay Night. *sight*
Anyway, I stop for now complaining about that hehe.
Saber and Emiya have such a great style in those black suits. And even if there is almost only one color for clothes, they are rather well detailed. Buttons of the jacket and the shirt, creases, gloves, ties… ervery thing is faultless.
I omited to take picture of their shoes, but they are brown and very shining, as if they have just been polished.
I like the contrast between Saber who is impeccably dressed, and Emiya who looks a bit slovenly, with its tie, well… untied, the shirt’s collar and jacket opened.
Moreover, Saber’s ponytail is so cute!! ^^
Both characters have an interchangeable hand.
Emiya can hold a old-looking gun, easy to place in the corresponding hand thanks to the soft plastic of his fingers. Or he can be set with a cigarette between the index and middle finger.
Saber can either hold her legendary sword, or keep the fist clenched.
I really fell in love for this duet when it first was annonced. That « Men in Black » style is so impressing, and I even prefer Saber dressed like that than her king armor. And considering those are Max Factory figures, I could order them with closed eyes. And now, I am proud to have one more male figure among this harem collection! They are so rare… and even is Emiya is taller/larger than Saber, the fact he is a guy could explain why the figure is 1800 JPY more expensive. Perhaps.
As you can see, I played a bit with shadows, to have some silhouette pictures. I wanted to vary a bit, and I am pretty pleased with the final result. The sky was not too cloudy, and the morning sun light is smooth enough.

I like the silhouette, give the figures a mysterious feel to it ^^.

awesome pictures! great work with the shadows! though i won’t be getting either one of them in the medium run, but i really like the man and woman in black. they both look much more well dressed compared to their original outfits.

I prefer watching anime than reading..hehe..

i really like the shadow-effect pics.
taken at dawn?

Really beautiful shots! :) The silhouette shots have this really epic feel to them, and I didn’t know black on black would look so good! :D
Congratulations on getting them. :3

nice pics with the silhouette effect. I don’t really like her dressed like that though! I prefer her armor clothing but without the armor. Like just the blue/white dress with no armor pieces on…that looks nice lol
But I suppose with Kiritsugu dressed similarly they do make a pretty neat duo

I think your logo is too heavy and I find my eye drawn to it instead of Saber or Kiritsugu. The pictures themselves are great, particularly the black on black shots and what I would have done if I haven’t been so lazy lately.

Thank you all. I am glad this first try for silhouette pictures is appreciated!
valho : Fate’s universes are full of mysteries afterall ^^
This is a bit the atmosphere I tried to capture, so I am happy you notice it!
e-jump : it was arround 11:30am actually. I under-exposed (1/1600 sec) so it look darker than it really was.
sueno : yeah that’s how I like Saber too, before I knew she also had this black suit ^^
super rats : now you mention it… you’re completely right. Definitely too heavy. I will try to change it. Thanks for the advice. I have added a new logo on the first picture, I guess this is much better ^^”

I’ve yet to try and take photos at dawn, but I usually wake up much too late, but I’m also too lazy to try it out. Nice effect with the shadows, I might try that one day.

Silhouette effect looks really good. ^^
I´m waiting Hollow/Ataraxia anime version more than Zero. My favourite characters are there. Someday… I prefer Saber´s casual clothes most. Love that blue ribbon.

How did you get those sihouettes? They look awesome =D!

nice silhouttes :D
better if you make the logo smaller (like the one in the first picture)

oooh~
Nice “dark” pictures there, the silhouttes are also great.
At first I didn’t like the suited up Saber but after getting my Alter Saber from Fate/Zero, it really grew on me, so I guess I appreciate these photos more now :3

Kakkoii!
February 4th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
I really wanted to get the duo, but I preordered Exelica, Fauna, and Ryouko already, and I didn’t want to get into even more debt >.>
February 4th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
haha.. tot wanna get Emiya too.. but still…. cant really convince myself to get a male figure yet XD
love your dark shots.. looks cool :) but your second photo.. Saber’s face looks so different from the promo photo? (looks wider) =.=”

Adun : in fact it was rather late in the morning, almost noon. The fact I under-exposed a lot the pictures may give the wrong impression they were taken at dawn. But no, I am lazy too, especially on sunday hehe ^^”
myu : mmhh blue ribbon indeed! ^^
So you prefer Caren, Avenger and Bazett to Saber and Rin!? Heretic!! (j/k ^^)
M12 : thanks! I placed the figures with the sun light coming from the front left, and set the exposure to 1/1600 second (after may tries).
ron~ : yes indeed! will harmonize the whole picture set with the smaller one ^^;
Aya Kyunik : when I first saw Saber dressed like that it was actually through ALTER little figures. Then I played Nitro+ Royale Battle PC game, where Saber is a hidden character and changes from black suit to armor just before the fight begin. So… it grew on me too until Max Factory annonced this duet ^^
Rin : what an enthusiasm! Saber IS cool indeed ^^
Danny Choo : Haha yeah this time is a « Kakkoii! » one ^^
Zeroblade : hoo~ Excelia! I decided to give up pruchasing this one, and Fauna too, even if they look awesome. This would be too much. But looking forward your opinion about Excelia!
Prim3 : time to time it’s nice to have some guy figures, don’t you think? ^^”
Her gaze is slightly different from what was shown on promotional pictures. And because of my lighting, hair color looks different too. That’s maybe why she look weird.
February 5th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Emiya looks really cool, though I’d prefer saber in her more casual clothes. I think saber pose is abit too stiff for my liking.
February 6th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Had to give this set a miss since I’m way in over my head on figures and I had to very reluctantly let them slip away from me T_T Though that might change if I see them in the store -_-” Seeing these pics definitely doesn’t help steel my resolve either for resisting.
The silhouettes are really sweet against such a beautiful skyline. Somehow, I find myself very attracted to that bracelet on Saber’s right hand ^^; Have always just focused on that bracelet pretty much since the promo shots ^^
February 11th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Haha.. guy figures eh.. I will be getting one.. Bridget! XD
btw, let’s exchange links.. added you..
February 16th, 2008 at 9:38 am
alafista : according to the poll, Saber seems to be more popular with her casual clothes hehe.
That is what I thought until Fate/Zero. Just a matter of taste ;)
shino : That’s funny to see how much this bracelet is attracting ^^
I am also quite focused on it.
Prim3 : thank! added your website too :)

nicely done….
If only I had such skills -_-

Saber reminds me of Gunslinger Girl…=D
