This week-end, I decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and went to a lake nearby. As you can easily predict it, I brought some figures, and a good friend of mine, JC, came too. We took advantage of the fact JC has the special accessories for Mikuru and Yuki (Max Factory) figures to recreate the famous « Mikuru beam » scene.

SOSdan shooting

SOSdan shooting

Taking figure pictures elsewhere than your own place is not simple at all. We Had to watch the figures from wind, dog, the kid that was taking the dog for a walk, or maybe it was in fact the dog who was taking the kid for a walk… so hard to focus on pictures when there are so many disturbances arround. I respect Adun particularly for that hehe.
So I don’t have much to show since most of photos were failure. And those are not that nice if you ask me.

And here the all five “Max Fact’ touch” figures for Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu figures

I don’t like those two pictures either. Bad light, wrong colors… I completely screw up them. But that the all I have, to tell the world “hey look, I got Yuki, Ryouko and nyoro~n Tsuruya-san too!” ^^;

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu figures

Even if I am not satisfied at all about pictures I took, it was very funny and interresting, especially with friends. Was a bit caught up with time, since Sun sinks very quickly during winter, and more worried about people arround than the settings of my camera… but that was a good experience. Will definitely try this again.

And well, fortunately, for complet figure reviews, you can admire Tsuruya-san and Ryouko at foo-bar-baz, or admire super rats’ works for the (unpopular?) latest SHnY figure.

Oh and to end with, on the way back to home, I met a cute grade school girl who dropped her book and was wondering what the hell we were doing.

Rin Kokonoe

Even if it reminds me some not really good memories (haha just kidding), I like this Kokonoe Rin figure, even more since I saw the whole Kodomo no Jikan anime, and loved it ^^;

Photography location

Marion Lake is a 17 hectares preserved area not far from Biarritz town center.

Marion Lake Around Marion Lake

Seagulls

Due to ocean closeness, there are a lot of seagulls sharing the water plan with ducks and other water birds.

Close Plane

Another type of seagull, due to airport proximity.

Behind the Scene

And a last “behind the scene” picture, showing fellow JC in action. The picture of me he took may become available soon is now available at his blog ^^;

  1. beautiful scenary :D better if you remove their bases for the shot tho (but I think they can’t stand by themselves ^^;)

    is that yuki cat custom made?

  2. I like those two pictures, reminds me so much of Haruhi, especially with the accessories. That’s the thing about going outdoors to take pictures, you have to worry about people, animals, and nature itself lol. If I go out to take pictures I usually go in the morning when people aren’t awake or still at work/school lol. I actually dropped kodomo, just a bit too loli for me lol.

  3. wohaha that seems so fun, the beam scene is such a clasic

  4. I lol’ed straight when I saw your post. Great effort for the outdoor shoot, you chose a great place to take them. Too bad the lighting didn’t really cut it enough. You guys must have been there for some time?

  5. Hum the lighting on the group could have indeed worked better, although it seems there wasn’t enough sun to light them anyway. That lake area is really nice wish I had a place like that near me, well the only thing I have is a forest of trees with a small river :P

  6. Love this one. Your remake of ep00 is really cool. I want that Kokonoe Rin figure. Really cool!!!

  7. Outdoor photo shoots can be quite tricky, but the one thing you have to overcome first is the eyes of passerbys. Wait till you start heading into areas where there are more people.

  8. I have always wanted that cat on yuki shoulder, looks so cute. I have only done outdoor shoot for figures once, quite a nice experience but not something I am gonna be doing again anytime soon ^^

  9. lol, awesome shoot~
    And yay for outdoor!

    Nice shot of all the figures you got there, I’m still waiting for my Tsuruya…..I love Tsuruya….

  10. JC finally updated his blog, so you can see more picture overthere.

    ron~ : the cat is one of the accessories provided with the beams and the Haruhi figure with summer clothes. Removing the bases woud have been great, but even Yuki cannot stand on her own without.

    AS : on the morning yeah, that what we should have done. Though light is a bit too harsh at that time I think.
    Kodomo is sure very loli hehe.

    alafista : mi… mi… mikuru beam! too bad either of us had the limited Mikuru with the blue crying eye ^^

    rain : that’s a lovely place indeed. Too sad I couldn’t exploit it like I wanted. What a mess ^^;
    We stayed there during about 1 hour and a half.

    Belela-san : forest and river is lovely too ^^ Each place has its own mysterious charm hehe.

    Rin : thanks! Kokonoe is a lovely figure indeed, but I had to make sure nobody was arround when taking pictures of her. Didn’t want to face misunderstandings ^^;

    Adun : indeed. But I am not enough confident yet hehe. I guess it is like everything, and becomes easier with more and more practice ;)
    But yeah, will wait a little more before going to a crowded cafe like you already did ^^

    valho : I admit your last outdoor session at a lake, where you took picutres of Ryoko”s” and Clalaclan figures inspired me a little bit hehe ^^

    Aya Kyunik : Love her too! ^^
