Note Pad #1

Just wanted to write about few lil’ things today but don’t have particular photos to share. So it gives me the chance to fill that note pad category I created for the occasion ^^;
So, first -

BeFA

Maybe you are already aware of it, but I wanted to let you know of the ongoing Best Figure Awards 2010 – 3rd edition – which final votes are still open until the end of the month.
“The purpose of this event is the election of the most appreciated japanimation/manga figure, according to a three-round vote of internet users.”
This fan-made event is organised by FigureManiax, a great French-speaking community of anime figure lovers. With some comrades from FMX, I held a figure stall two years ago.

For this year BeFA, Saber Lily faces Black Rock Shooter in a really close game. So if one of those two is your favorite figure and you don’t want to see it lose against the other one, go vote! ^^
And no, I won’t tell which figure I voted for, don’t expect a single clue about that either. Got it? not a single one…

Ordering Figmas and di:stage Pieces

I have been quite busy today tidying the house and ordering some figmas and di:stage items. Boxes and plastic packaging take a load of space, so I decided to get ride of all of them. I used various chocolate boxes we emptied last xmas to put all those little pieces in.

It was just the beginning ^^;

Then I stored all away in brand new drawers. Still have a looooong way to go until everything is tidy well. Here there are only 10 di:stage basic clear sets. Got as many black ones and some clear case sets too ^^;;
But at the end it will be much easier to pick up a figma, play with it, and put it back again in a safe place.

Didn’t see a lot of di:stage layers from figures comrades. Anyone got some?

mukyaa.com New Layout

I guess you’ve already noticed some changes just before reading this. So yes, once again I fiddled with the PHP/CSS/Javascript code my website.
I can’t help changing or upgrading stuff. I guess I get bored really quickly and feel the need to renew the blog to not let it die ^^;
This time, after I played a bit with JQuery and CSS3, I wanted to add few neat features -

New Features

  • gyaboo! panel : I named this template “gyaboo”, which fits well the blog’s name. Those who already know why I named this site mukyaa.com should understand. So, the gyaboo panel is both a brief resume of myself and a navigation tool which contains the most useful links, like back home, top, rss feed and categories.
  • like it button : I know you like every thing here, so go and click every where there is a little heart and show me your love ^^;; Actually it was a test feature to learn how to build in some scripts with wordpress design. And since it is funny I kept it.
  • social stuff : twitter, buzz, facebook… if you like what you see, and want to share it easily. We see that everywhere anyway. Pretty handy but is it really used?
  • MOAR! button : for folks who want to see moOOAR! click for moOOAR! Was tired of the previous scolling stuff, and it didn’t work exactly like I wanted. Moreover, it was based on some code I did not write/understand which has the knack of getting on my nerves. So, ended up with a new way to display content, a way I control perfectly ^^

Hope you’ll like it. Anyway I had a lot of fun doing this. Feel free to give me your feedback. There is always something I forgot ^^;

Gyaboo template tested on Firefox 3.6, IE 8, Chrome 4 and Safari 4 – best experience with Firefox 3.6, Chrome 4 and Safari 4 – IE lags behind regarding CSS3.

  • I like the additional touches you gave your site.Subtle yet useful!
    So youre working in the aerospace industry? Sounds interesting!
  • Good, I am glad to read it is still usable ^^;
    Yeah aerospace, from booster rocket simulation to satellites communication. Very interesting indeed, but not as much as Rocket Girls. There’s not many bishoujo =p
  • Good enterprise this arrangement. Hey, so you ate chocolate to gather boxes. Is it not Ferrero Rocher or some "Mon Chéri" ? :D
    Me too i always love to improve my site for the same reasons as you, keeping my motivation. I love Gyaboo button! It's beautiful and convenient, same as Moar bar! Clever. Congrats!
  • Ferrero Rocher, yup! quite recognizable boxes ^^
    And thanks. Somehow we can tell that a blog is like a room, and it is always refreshing to make some changes.
