Figures Restock
I don't really know how should I feel about figure re-releases. Although this is great for everyone who missed some isolated lovely pieces, like for Melissa Seraphy, but it can be very cruel when there are other related figures arround.
Fellow collectors will easily understand what I am going to bleat about just by looking at the following picture.
But let me explain.
Last year, ALTER released a wonderful figure representing Megachu! (Megamisama Chuuihou) eroge game heroine : Fauna.
Unlike most of characters from this kind of games, I already knew who she was, and have already seen her in action thanks to great CG websites and the first OAV ^^;
So, it could have been a good reason to order this cute figurine and add it to my collection. But I made up my mind, deciding not to grab any Megachu! figures. Maybe because I had already too much figures ordered, or something like that. Haa~ nevermind. That was one year ago.
- Then Fauna figure was finally released.
- And then almost everybody arround exhibited their new treasure, with more and more amazing pictures showing how wonderful the figure was.
- So I finally had a second thought about it.
- But it was already too late ^^;
ALTER also revealed their plan of releasing Leukothea and Jordh, so finally, I was somehow relieved for not having ordered Fauna, since I would have wanted to get Jordh too. I really like her… « style » ^^;
All could have ended like this… if it had not been decided to re-release Fauna ¬_¬
And since I am a weak-against-bishoujo-figure-otaku, I lanched my favorite internet brower, went on my regular figure dealer website, and add both Fauna and Jordh to my cart. Damn!
I guess I have been trapped this time. Though I was quite proud for having resisted to ALTER (once again) Fate Testarossa reissue. This is a huge conspiracy…
So! In pawn of my displeasure** I will not provide other pictures until I have received this bloody Fauna, next month maybe. Na!
**Just to make it clear, I am definitely NOT displeased! This article was just a stupid way to write a self-criticism. Don't interpret it to the letter ^^;

When I first started collecting figures, I bought one figure at a time. Then I saw the Kureha figurine by Max Factory and thought: “looks nice, but let’s take it easy on buying”. Now I can’t find her for sale anymore and then I’d like to slap myself for not buying her at that moment… :-p
Thus, I’m all in for “reissueing old masterpieces” !
Ah, I also want the Fauna and Jordh figures… and maybe the Leukothea figure too.

I appreciate figure re-releases when they are something I desperately wanted but didn’t end up getting the first time around.
But obviously I’d rather be with the “in” crowd and snatch them all up when everybody else does ^o^
I love that Fauna figure….not so much the Jordh, but it’s still pretty nice.

re-releases are always nice, because most of them are usually rare figurines :D

I LOVE re-releases. so often times i end up dropping an order from lack of cash. But when they announce a re-release i’m the first to jump on the bandwagon.

I actually have Fauna rerelease ordered at Play-Asia, but in the end I cancel it, just too much stuff coming at the time. Rerelease are good especially for those hard to find figures that you’ll probably have to pay a lot to get now. Now if only Alter will rerelease Meg, hmmm.

Daftline : aahh~ Kureha, the kind of figure you should not think too much and grab one before it is too late. She deserves to be reissued.
morimoli : Fauna is the best I think. The two others reminds the game they come from too much by her pose. But that’s what I like with Jordh ^^
e-jump : no don’t like this little one. She is cute, but I can’t stand her face ^^; for once, I won’t complete the set hehe.
ron~ : yeah, and I am still waiting for a GSC Rider reissue ^^;
Dancing Queen : but couldn’t it make an unexpected expense and generate a new lack of cash for newer figures? Just teasing ^^
valho : I am sure a reissue of the Bakuten girls would have a lot of success, at least Jo and Meg.
About Fate, well, since she will have her Figma version, I am much more interrested in this new representation ^^

Oh Lord…
Resisting the Urge to buy a Figure…Just to be slapped across the Face with a Reissue that you cant resist a second time.
I like Reissues.Its always nice to get your hands on something you couldnt get before because of various reasons.
I can live with it when my Figure isnt rare

Very recognizable event, cool post! I hope the burst version of Fate Testarossa get’s in re-release. I can’t find it, I was too late ordering it. If I ever find it again, it’s mine!
So, I agree, bank accounts really hates re-releases/ re-stocking.

I like MF’s Fauna, but I haven’t gotten the urge to collect all of Alter’s Megachu runs. Don’t we all love restocks? They’re like the second temptation cycle.

Fauna, Leukothea and Jordh are definetely must-have IMO. Alter has done a great job with them…
