Since I collect anime character figures, I also developped a great infatuation for visual / art books. Well, this is not really surprising though, as these kind of goods, it sells like hot cakes melon pans.
And then, to extend my personal library with some Shana pictures and to pay tribute to Noizi Ito, I grabbed both GU·RE·N and KA·E·N Art Collection. I still wonder how the hell is that possible I didn’t bought Vol.1 GU·RE·N sooner, but nevermind. I profited from Vol.2 KA·E·N release to take the two of them, and at the same time save some yens from excessive Amazon.jp freight charges.
Both books have the same build and layout. Rigid cover, black (GU·RE·N) and purple (KA·E·N), and great paper. This is for the form. About the substance, a first section devoted to Shakugan no Shana, with a bit more Flame Haze version in KA·E·N. Then a second section very interresting with artworks produced for various people. And before the last full Japanese text section, some of Noizi Ito’s works from her doujin books. For someone like me you can’t catch these books, that’s a pretty nice compensation, I guess.
Those picture samples are from KA·E·N, and from what I’ve recognised, I can list To Heart 2, Dokuro-chan, Utawareru mono, Kujian, Higurashi, Guilty Gear, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, Nanatsuiro Drops, Jingai Makyo… and of course some of her new project Bee-Be-Beat it! (can’t wait an anime adaptation by the way, looks so ecchi hehe).
However, no Suzumiya Haruhi illustrations, and no Peace@Pieces either.
But… OMG! Rimu-chan from SHUFFLE!
I was completely stunned when I saw this amazing drawing. My favorite illustration. Definitely!

Darn you lu-k…by sending shino back into artbooks anonymous it led to me buying 3 books myself, haha. It’s cool though, I always wanted to purchase an anime artbook :D
So actually what I meant to say was, thanks ^^
That is such a lovely drawing of Primula. That Kaen book sounds very appealing.
(OT) Hey I finally started watching Shuffle :P I’m on ep 13 atm and now i see why Asa senpai should have been added to my green haired luv list. But nothing beats the kawaiiness of Primula ^^

Danny Choo : the same as Komoni figure hehe ^^
AS : Bought on Amazon Japan, and it cost 2,800 JPY per book, with 4,600 JPY shipping charges to Europe x_x
Total 10,200 JPY
aka_ugly : hehe you’re welcome ;)
Artbooks are another way to appreciate (again) animes I loved, I think. And some like Basilisk, ARIA or Rozen Maiden are incredibly beautiful.
Anyway, welcome in the wonderful world of SHUFFLE! hehe ;)
But be careful, you may want to order Rimu-chan nendoroid figure at anytime now ^^
